13 months and counting.
When we took on this project we did not envisage this taking so long. Talk about biting off more than you can chew. I guess we’ll never know how much of that was down to Covid related delays, how much was down to trying to work together with the neighbour, how much was because we went for full planning permission.
Right now with that glorious benefit of hindsight, pretty sure we’d have gone down the permitted development route, made the side return extension slightly shorter and just gotten on with it a year ago and be enjoying the end result by now..
The architect has been working up the building regs plans and we’ve sent a spreadsheet detailing the scope of the works at a high level to a number of builders so just waiting on them coming back with some quotes. The building regs plans are really interesting (well I think so) with all the pipework, guttering, run off, things to think about.
The fact that the builders haven’t even responded to our request for a quote for 2 weeks is telling.. must be a busy period. Oh well.. looks like be taking a little while longer before things start happening.
